8-Year-Old Performs Ed Sheeran Song For Ellen Not Knowing The Singer Is Right Behind Him

8-year-old Kai gets surprised by Ed Sheeran while performing the singer’s hit single “Thinking Out Loud” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Kai is an 8-year-old child star who first rose to fame after being featured on the Ellen show. He stopped by the studio to surprise Ellen with a handmade Valentine’s Day card. Little did he know he was the one about to get the surprise of a lifetime.

The sweet card Kai made for Ellen was a list of everything he loved about the talk show host. He thinks Ellen is beautiful. He called her his first girlfriend and told her he loved her. He also thinks she’s the “best ever!”

Ellen was clearly touched by the gesture, but that’s not all the young star had in store for her. Kai also sang the Ed Sheeran hit “Thinking Out Loud.” He sang his little heart out, and he even did adorable hand gestures to act out the lyrics. It’s clear that this kid is going to be a heartbreaker one day!

Near the end of his performance, the audience starts screaming. Kai, who was concentrating so hard on singing that his eyes were closed, didn’t notice the commotion. At first, it’s unclear why the audience is applauding. Then Ed Sheeran strolls onto the stage.

The English singer and songwriter calmly takes a seat behind Kai and waits for him to finish singing. Sheeran was obviously delighted to see an 8-year-old sing one of his songs so passionately. At the end of the song, Ellen tells Kai to turn around. Kai, who is usually incredibly outgoing, is stunned into silence. After the initial shock of seeing his idol standing in front of him, he manages to mumble “hi” to the international pop star.

Ed Sheeran later took the stage again to perform “Shape of You,” but not before Ellen surprised little Kai with an all-expense-paid trip to Manchester England. It turns out music isn’t Kai’s only love, he’s also a huge soccer fan.
